January is National Glaucoma Awareness Month
When someone is diagnosed with glaucoma it can be a very difficult time in his or her life. A diagnosis of glaucoma often leads to many questions and concerns about the disease, not only from that individual but his or her family and friends. Glaucoma is not a single disease, but a group of diseases that can gradually steal eyesight without warning and often without any prior symptoms. The loss of vision occurs due to damaging of the optic nerve. Be sure to speak with your eye care specialist to stay up-to-date with eye exams, prescriptions, and vision care.
